How to unlock your iPhone with your RYST ?

Wearing a mask is now mandatory on public transportation and strongly recommended in public places. Wondering how to unlock your iPhone while wearing your RYST? Here is the solution.

A SIMPLE IPHONE TWEAK!

Since 2017, Apple offers the possibility to unlock your phone with your face. After Touch ID which utilized fingerprint technology, Apple introduced Face ID, a technology that allows you to unlock your iPhone just by looking at it. It is a very convenient way to quickly unlock your phone, but unfortunately it doesn't work when your face is covered. Now that mask wearing has become part of our daily lives, this has become quite an issue. Fret not, we have a solution to share with you! 

A Chinese researcher from Tencent has figured out how to trick your iPhone's sensor. You will just need to save a new face registration to your Face ID settings. Follow the typical process to register your face but cover your face with only half of your mask – see middle pic below. 

 We tested the technique and after several attempts, it worked well. Be careful, this technique is mask specific. If you switch masks, regardless of whether it is a disposable or fabric mask, you will have to repeat the steps to register your new mask as a new Face ID. 

 With all that being said, if you find that is far too troublesome for what it’s worth, you can always type your code directly onto your iPhone screen to unlock it as well.

 FOR ANDROID PHONE USERS

If you don't have an iPhone, you won't be able to use the facial recognition sensor of your phone. On the other hand, you are probably lucky enough to still have a fingerprint sensor in addition to facial recognition, so you will be able to unlock your phone without any problem, even when wearing a mask.
